NATO DSG welcomes the Deputy PM of Ukraine

On Wednesday, 4th October 2023, the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mr Mircea Geoană, will welcome the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Ms Olha Stefanishyna, at the NATO Headquarters. Ms Stefanishyna will engage with Allies at the NATO-Ukraine Council (NUC). There will be no media opportunity.

ECR Group to host Ahmad Massoud at extraordinary meeting

Massoud is the son of Afghan national hero Ahmad Shah Massoud, who was assassinated by the Taliban. He is in Europe for a series of meetings in various capitals and for the launch of his book, 'Notre liberté', in France. His presence in Strasbourg coincides with a debate in the European Parliament on the human rights situation in Afghanistan, taking place the same day.

EU Commissioner Wojciechowski visits flood affected regions in Greece

On 5 & 6 October, Commissioner for Agriculture, Janusz Wojciechowski, travels to Greece to visit areas affected by recent flood damage. On the ground he will meet farmers and rural communities whose lives were directly impacted by the floods. The extent of damage to agriculture and forestry is of deep concern.

EU leaders to discuss future strategy in granada

EU Commission Executive VP Dombrovskis in Slovakia to visit Ukrainian border region

Between 5 and 7 October, Executive Vice-President and Commissioner for Trade, Valdis Dombrovskis, travels to Slovakia to visit the Ukrainian border region. Executive Vice-President Dombrovskis will be welcomed by the Minister of Transport of Slovakia, Pavol Lančarič, to visit a transhipment terminal and observe first hand important developments in Solidarity Lanes infrastructure. These developments are feeding into the work of the Joint Coordination Platform to facilitate Ukrainian grain exports and develop alternative transport routes.
