Romania: EU Commission disburses 3rd tranche of €1.3bn under NextGenEU

AI and data protection: EDPB presents guidelines on data transfers to 3rd country authorities

During its latest plenary, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) adopted the final version of its guidelines on Art.48 GDPR about data transfers to third country authorities. In addition, the Board presented two new Support Pool of Experts (SPE) projects providing training material on artificial intelligence and data protection. Finally, the Board discussed the European Commission’s request for a joint EDPB-EDPS opinion on the draft proposal on the simplification of record-keeping obligation under the GDPR.

EU Commission launches public consultation on high-risk AI systems

On Friday, the Commission has launched a public consultation to gather input on implementing the AI Act’s rules on high-risk AI systems. The consultation will collect practical examples and clarify issues relating to high-risk AI systems. This feedback will be taken into account in the upcoming Commission guidelines on classifying high-risk AI systems, and related requirements and obligations. It will also collect input on responsibilities along the AI value chain.

Upcoming Digital Networks Act: EU Commission gathers feedback

The EU Commission is seeking views on how to tackle barriers for cross-border business operations, boost innovation and increase investment in the European electronic communications sector.
