Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence, Brussels, 12-13 October 2023

A meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at the level of Defence Ministers will take place on 12-13 October 2023 at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels. The meeting will be chaired by the NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg. Media representatives without annual accreditation to NATO can apply for ad-hoc accreditation to the Ministerial meeting. The deadline for accreditation is Thursday 28 September 2023, at midnight (CEST). 

Sweden: Press conference in Visby with PM Kristersson

On Friday 13 October, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson will host the JEF Leaders’ Summit in Visby – a summit of heads of state and government within the framework of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) regional defence partnership. A press conference will be held after the summit.

EU Commission President in Tirana to participate in the Berlin Process Summit

On Sunday 15 and Monday 16 October, President Ursula von der Leyen will be in Tirana, Albania, where she will participate in the Berlin Process Summit, held in the Western Balkans region for the first time. On Sunday afternoon, President von der Leyen will meet the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, and the Prime Minister, Edi Rama, to discuss Albania's EU accession process. President von der Leyen and Prime Minister Rama will hold a press conference following their meeting, at +/- 17:30 CEST, which will be broadcast live on EbS.

Vote and press conference: Banning products made with forced labour in the EU

On Monday at 19.00-19.30, Parliament’s Internal Market Committee (IMCO) and International Trade Committee (INTA) will vote on their joint draft report on a new regulation that aims to stop forced labour along companies’ supply chains. On Tuesday at 14.30, co-rapporteurs Maria-Manuel Leitão-Marques (S&D, PT, IMCO) and Samira Rafaela (Renew, NL, INTA) will reply to questions from the media on Parliament’s proposal and the next steps of the procedure.
