The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will host the ninth meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group on Europol (JPSG), on 25-26 October. The JPSG meets twice a year, bringing together Members of national parliaments and the European Parliament to fulfil their scrutiny and oversight on the activities of Europol, including on fundamental rights.
The agenda includes debates with Europol Executive Director, Ms Catherine De Bolle, keynote speeches by Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ms Ylva Johansson, and Mr Aleš Hojs, Minister of Interior, Slovenia. The JPSG will also hear a presentation by the European Data Protection Supervisor, Mr Wojciech Wiewiórowski. Thematic debates with the Office of the EPPO and high profile experts from national authorities will include topics such as protection of the EU financial interest and cybercrime with focus of online child abuse.
