Brussels, 20 September 2023

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control of BAM DLR Data Centre Services Private Limited, BAM DLR Mumbai Private Limited, BAM DLR Chennai Private Limited, BAM DLR Network Services Private Limited, and BAM DLR Kolkata Private Limited (together ‘BAM’) by Reliance Industries Limited (‘Reliance’), all of India, Brookfield Corporation (‘Brookfield’), of Canada, and Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (‘Digital Realty’) of the US. Currently, BAM is jointly controlled by Brookfield and Digital Realty.

The transaction relates primarily to the sector of data centre facilities in India.

The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given that BAM has no actual or foreseen activities in the European Economic Area. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.

More information is available on the Commission’s competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.11250.
