The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of Altra Industrial Motion Group (‘Altra Industrial Motion’) by Regal Rexnord Corporation (‘Regal Rexnord’), both of the US.
Regal Rexnord designs, engineers, manufactures and sells industrial powertrain solutions, power transmission components and electric motors, among others. Altra Industrial Motion supplies power transmission and motion control solutions.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given the companies’ limited combined market position resulting from the proposed transaction. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
