High Representative Borrell travels to G7 Foreign Affairs Ministers’ meeting in Italy

High Representative Josep Borrell will travel to Fiuggi and Anagni (Italy) on 25-26 November to participate in the second G7 Foreign Affairs Ministers’ meeting hosted under the Italian Presidency this year.

On Monday 25, High Representative Borrell will participate in discussions with G7 counterparts on the situation in the Middle East and the Red Sea. Later during this day, Arab partners will join the discussions under the thematic ‘Together for the Middle East’.

On Tuesday 26, High Representative Josep Borrell will hold an exchange with G7 Foreign Ministers and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on ensuring continued support to Ukraine in the face of Russia’s ongoing war of aggression. Discussions will continue with a focus on the Indo-Pacific, with the participation of partner countries from the region. A number of other international issues will be on the agenda of the meeting, including the Horn of Africa, Venezuela and Haiti.

In the margins of the G7 Foreign Ministers’ meeting, the High Representative will also hold a series of bilateral meetings.
