China will convene its most important political meetings on 4th March, known as the Two Sessions (Lianghui), joining the two main political bodies of China, the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Over the course of a week, China’s plans and policies relating to the economy, military, trade, diplomacy and the environment, to name but a few, will be outlined. One of the main points on the agenda is to approve the 14th Five-Year Plan. As this plan will have a far-reaching impact both domestically and internationally, the European Chamber has gathered a group of experts who will provide business leaders and decision-makers with important insights into the implications the Two Sessions will have on their businesses, the economy and the future of China.
On 10th March, 14:30–16:00 (GMT+8), the European Chamber is pleased to welcome Carly Ramsey, director of Political and Regulatory Risk, Greater China and North Asia at Control Risks, Jörg Wuttke, president of the European Chamber, Ivan Willis Rasmussen, assistant professor of Practice in Political Science at NYU Shanghai, and Long Chen, co-founder and partner at Plenum, to have a discussion on the Two Sessions.
