Brussels, 7 July 2023

On 7 and 8 July, High Representative/Vice-President Josep Borrell and Vice-President for Democracy and Demography Dubravka Šuica will be in Croatia for the Dubrovnik Forum international conference.

In the context of the second year of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and its negative global impact, the sixteenth edition of this international policy forum will provide a platform to discuss possible responses to current global challenges, with a focus on the dynamics and needs of global politics and geo-economics.

On 7 July, HR/VP Borrell will participate in the opening panel on “Navigating the Global Reshuffle”, and on 8 July, Vice-President Šuica will deliver a keynote speech and participate in a panel on the “World Order out of Order: How to Stabilize World Politics?”.

In the margins of the Forum, High Representative/Vice-President Borrell will meet with Prime Minister Plenković and will hold a number of bilateral meetings with international and regional counterparts.

The Forum will also feature keynote speeches by Ministers and senior officials and additional panels dealing separately with Europe’s energy transition, the challenges in the Mediterranean, the Western Balkans’ Euro-Atlantic path and the EU’s global role, as well as a special OECD talk.

The interventions by HR/VP Borrell and VP Šuica will be broadcast live on EbS.
