High Representative/Vice President (HR/VP) Josep Borrell and Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson will be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, over the weekend.
The HR/VP will participate in a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum Stakeholder dialogue North to South, East to West: Rebuilding Trust on Sunday, 28 April. The Commissioner will participate in a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum’s Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth and Energy for Development on the same day.
The HR/VP will also hold several bilateral meetings with regional actors and participants to the forum. His participation will offer an opportunity to exchange on how to shape progress on global and regional priorities within the current challenging geopolitical and geo-economic landscape, and discuss the current challenges stemming from the situation in the region.
Commissioner Simson‘s visit to Saudi Arabia forms part of her continuous engagement with international reliable partners to foster Europe’s energy security and the global pursuit of the clean energy transition. She will also hold a bilateral meeting with Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to discuss how to take the EU-Saudi Arabia energy relations further.
