Past allegations of misuse of EU funds in relation to certain Palestinian Civil Society Organisations have not been substantiated.
Civil society is an essential contributor to good governance and sustainable development in the EU, in Israel, Palestine* and elsewhere. The EU will continue to stand by international law and support civil society organisations, as they play a crucial role in promoting international law, human rights, and democratic values.
* This designation shall not be construed as recognition of a State of Palestine and is without prejudice to the individual positions of the Member States on this issue.
