Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, will travel to Valletta, Malta on 27 and 28 April to discuss the findings of the 2022 Rule of Law Report, press freedom and the enforcement of the EU restrictive measures against Russia. During the visit, Commissioner Reynders is set to meet with the Prime Minister of Malta, Robert Abela, as well as the Minister of Justice, Jonathan Attard; and the Attorney General, Victoria Buttigieg.

The Commissioner will also hold a meeting with the Minister for Foreign and EU Affairs and Trade, Ian Borg, followed by a debate with the members of the EU Affairs Committee of the Maltese Parliament. Commissioner Reynders will also hold a meeting with a series of NGOs and civil society organisations present in Malta. Finally, Commissioner Reynders will pay tribute at the memorial of the Maltese investigative journalist, Daphne Caruana Galizia.
