On Monday and Tuesday, 20 and 21 February, Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira, will be in the Netherlands to launch the Dutch €623 million Just Transition programme that will support the country in its transition towards a climate-neutral economy.

On Monday, a launch event will take place at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in the province of Groningen which is the main beneficiary of the Just Transition Fund. The Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, Micky Adriaansens; the Dutch Minister of Social Affairs and Employment, Karien van Gennip; the Commissioner of the King, René Paas; and representatives of several municipalities will attend the event.

In the afternoon, Commissioner Ferreira will have a youth dialogue and a press conference at Energy Barn, a sustainable building built with local materials.

On Tuesday, the Commissioner will visit the Chemport Innovation Centre (CHIC), where she will participate in a roundtable discussion with representatives of the region and of the industry, and the life-long learning centre ‘Vakland het Hogeland‘.
