Brussels, 20 January 2025
The European Commission has today launched a call for evidence to gather views and shape the European Ocean Pact.
Announced by President von der Leyen in her Political Guidelines, the European Ocean Pact aims to maintain a healthy, resilient and productive ocean; promote a sustainable and competitive blue economy, including fisheries and aquaculture; and work towards a comprehensive agenda for marine knowledge, research and innovation, as well as for investment.
Interested parties will have until February 17, 2025 to provide input. The feedback gathered will be used to shape the European Ocean Pact, which the Commission intends to present in time for the third UN Ocean Conference in June 2025.
More information on the call for contributions can be found on our website and on the Have Your Say portal.
