Next Monday, 29 August, President Ursula von der Leyen will be in Slovenia to participate in the Bled Strategic Forum, where she will deliver a keynote speech. There, she will also meet the President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, and Prime Minister Robert Golob. The Bled Strategic Forum has been for 17 years a leading informal platform where high-level participants discuss political, security and development challenges facing Europe. This year, it will focus on the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on international and humanitarian law, and its repercussions on the economy, and on the fight against climate change. Other speakers include the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy; the President of Moldova Maia Sandu; the President of Iceland Guðni Th. Jóhannesson; the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković and the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama. The President’s speech will be broadcast live on EbS.
