Brussesl, 2 April 2024

Today, the Commission made a second disbursement of €702 million in grants (excluding pre-financing) to the Czech Republic under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). As with all Member States, disbursements to the Czech Republic under the RRF are based on the achievement of results and the implementation by the Czech Republic of the investments and reforms listed in its recovery and resilience plan.

On December 6, 2023, the Czech Republic submitted to the Commission its second payment request for €702 million under the RRF, covering 28 milestones and targets in the implementation of four reforms and 24 investments. These include reforms supporting the construction of high-capacity internet networks, sustainable mobility, and online administration.

On February 19, 2024, the Commission adopted a preliminary positive assessment of the Czech Republic’s payment request. The favorable opinion of the Council’s Economic and Financial Committee on this payment request paved the way for the Commission to adopt a final decision on the disbursement of funds.

The Czech Republic’s comprehensive recovery and resilience plan will be financed by €8.4 billion in grants and €818 million in loans. The amounts of payments made to Member States are published in the recovery and resilience dashboard, which shows the progress made in implementing the RRF as a whole and the individual recovery and resilience plans.

Further information on the payment request process under the RRF is available in this questions and answers document. More information on the Czech recovery and resilience plan is available here.
