The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of Gasib Sociedad Ibérica de Gas Licuado, S.L.U. (‘Gasib Spain’) of Spain and Gasib Sociedade Ibérica de Gàs Liquefeito, Lda (‘Gasib Portugal’) of Portugal by Abastible S.A. of Chile.
The transaction relates primarily to the supply and distribution of liquified petroleum gas in Spain and Portugal.
The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given that the companies are not active in the same or vertically related markets. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
