The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the creation of a joint venture by Porsche Austria GmbH & CO OG (‘Porsche Austria’), Wolfgang Denzel Auto AG (‘Denzel’) and Saubermacher Dienstleistungs AG (‘Saubermacher’), all of Austria.

The joint venture will be active in Austria and will offer consulting services in relation to the handling and disposal/treatment of lithium batteries, the provision of special containers and the commissioning of contractors.

Porsche Austria is active in the importation and wholesale of motor vehicles of the brands Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Porsche, Audi, Škoda, SEAT and CUPRA in Austria.

Denzel is active in the importation and wholesale of motor vehicles of the brands Mitsubishi, Hyundai, MG and Maxus in Austria.

Saubermacher is active in waste logistics, waste processing, waste treatment and waste disposal. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given the joint venture’s limited activity in the European Economic Area.

The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. More information is available on the Commission’s competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.10613.
