Brussels, 9 November 2022

Officials and experts from the EU and Korea will meet in Sejong City from 9 to 11 November 2022 to discuss and exchange good practices in competition policy and enforcement. The discussions will focus on developments in the regulation of digital markets, the evolving enforcement landscape in the EU and Korea, as well as on recent challenges in competition in the transport sector and the response of enforcement authorities.

Participants will also discuss the competition angles of State aid and subsidies, with a focus on support aiming at greening the economy. The annual EU-Korea Competition Week is part of the Competition Cooperation project, a 5-year EU-funded programme offering technical cooperation to competition authorities in Asia. It also provides a platform for exchanges on competition policy between the European Commission Directorate-General for Competition, the Korea Fair Trade Commission and the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

The objective of the project is to share experience and strengthen convergence in competition policy, to the benefit of citizens and businesses in both the EU and in Asia. More information about the European Commission’s bilateral dialogue with Korea in the field of competition policy is available on the Commission’s website.
