Stockholm, 7 March 2025
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) is preparing for an impactful year in 2025, delivering training sessions, capacity-building initiatives, and enhancing collaboration with European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) partner countries under the EU Initiative on Health Security.
To support partner countries, ECDC is proposing a comprehensive programme for 2025 that will remain responsive to the needs identified by the partner countries and ECDC through continuous dialogue.
Key activities for 2025 include:
- MediPIET field epidemiology training modules to build national expertise.
- Workshops on epidemic intelligence, risk assessment, and infodemic management to strengthen rapid response capabilities.
- Collaboration with partner countries for knowledge sharing and integration with European public health systems.
- Annual meetings and scientific events to foster dialogue and learning.
The initiative continues to support tailored capacity-building efforts, equipping public health professionals with the skills needed to detect, assess, and respond effectively to infectious disease threats in the EU`s Eastern and Southern neighbourhood regions.
In addition to multi-country capacity-building events, ECDC will also undertake tailored bilateral activities in response to specific interests and requests. Participants from ENP partner countries will have access to a wide range of training sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities throughout the year.
