According to its Article 3(3)(k), Directive 2011/83/EU1 does not apply (with the exception of few specific provisions) to passenger transport services as those are regulated by specific EU legislation, notably the four passenger rights regulations2. The Commission does not plan to extend the application of the Directive’s provisions on the right of withdrawal to air passenger services.

The Commission does not plan to extend the application of the Directive’s provisions on the right of withdrawal to air passenger services.
The Commission is currently conducting a review of travellers’ rights when buying package travel3 as well as a review of passengers’ rights in the event of crisis situations.
