The tenth meeting of the EU-Tajikistan Cooperation Council will take place in Luxembourg on 26 June, and will be chaired by Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The EU delegation will be led by Tobias Billström, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, on behalf of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy in his capacity as President of the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council.

The Cooperation Council will discuss the key aspects of the EU-Tajikistan Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, and the recently launched negotiations for an Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

Discussions will then continue on general and political issues, including justice and home affairs, human rights, rule of law, and economic and trade issues, including the EU’s Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+) list of issues, connectivity and energy.

Lastly the Cooperation Council will exchange views on regional and international issues in light of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and other regional challenges.
