Brussels, 30 September 2024

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control of Hargreaves Lansdown group of companies (‘Hargreaves Lansdown’) of the UK by Nordic Capital XI Limited, CVC Capital Partners plc (‘CVC’), both of Jersey, and Platinum Ivy B 2018 RSC (‘Platinum Ivy’) of the UAE.

The transaction relates primarily to the financial services sector, in particular to the operation of a  direct-to-consumer savings and investment platform for private investors.

The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given that the companies are not active in the same or vertically related markets. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.

More information is available on the Commission’s competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.11716.
