Officials and experts from the EU and India will meet online on 13 and 14 December to further their cooperation. Participants will discuss competition enforcement experiences and challenges, as well as regulatory developments. This year, officials from the Italian and French national competition authorities will also join the meeting.

The debates will focus on competition enforcement and regulatory alternatives in digital markets and the pharmaceutical sector. The fourth EU-India Competition Week follows the inaugural Competition Week organised in 2018 and the ones that followed in 2019 and 2020. It builds on the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of competition law signed between DG Competition and the Competition Commission of India on 21 November 2013.

The EU-India Competition Week is part of the Competition Cooperation project, a 5-year EU-funded programme offering technical cooperation to competition authorities in Asia. The objective is to exchange experiences and strengthen convergence in competition policy to the benefit of citizens and businesses in both the EU and Asia. More information about the European Commission’s bilateral dialogue with India in the field of competition policy is available on the Commission’s website.
