On 12 February, the European Union and the Government of Brazil held their 13th Digital Dialogue in Brussels.

The EU-Brazil Digital Dialogue aims to harness the potential of digital technologies to promote an inclusive digital transformation, sustainable growth and innovation. The Digital Dialogue is a cornerstone of the EU-Brazil strategic partnership established in 2007, which fosters deeper cooperation across a wide range of political, economic, and social issues.

On the occasion of the 13th Digital Dialogue, the EU and Brazil assessed the progress made in key areas of cooperation identified as priorities at the 2024 Dialogue. These include artificial intelligence regulation, online safety, digital connectivity including 5G and 6G, digital public services, and the data economy.Moreover, the two partners approved a joint work plan that will guide their collaboration over the next two years. The Digital dialogue was co-chaired by Renate Nikolay, Deputy Director-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology at the European Commission, and Ambassador Laudemar Goçalves de Aguiar Neto, Secretary of Trade Promotion, Science, Technology, Innovation and Culture of Brazil.
