Russia’s war: EU Council prolongs individual sanctions over territorial integrity for a further six months

The existing restrictive measures provide for travel restrictions for natural persons, the freezing of assets, and a ban on making funds or other economic resources available to the listed individuals and entities. Sanctions will continue to apply to almost 1 800 individuals and entities altogether, many of which are targeted in response to Russia’s ongoing unjustified and unprovoked military aggression against Ukraine.

Ukraine: Volodymyr Zelenskyy meets with German Foreign Minister

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Annalena Baerbock, who is on a visit to our country. On 8-10 September, regional and local elections were organised in Russia and illegally also in the territories of Ukraine that Russia has temporarily occupied. The individuals listed today include prosecutors and judges active in courts established by Russia’s occupying force in illegally annexed Crimea. They took part in the politically motivated court proceedings against Vladyslav Yesypenko, a journalist who was sentenced to 6 years in prison, and Nariman Dzhelyalov, a Crimean Tatar.

Ukraine: UNDP and EU start construction work to restore war-damaged schools

Since the start of the war in Ukraine in 2014, thousands of schools, kindergartens and other educational institutions have been destroyed across 18 regions of Ukraine. Finland: Changes to temporary protection for third-country nationals who have fled Ukraine

At its meeting on 7 September, the Government decided that Finland would no longer grant temporary protection and new residence permits to those third-country nationals who have fled Ukraine and who were not granted international protection or a permanent residence permit by Ukraine. Finland sends more assistance to Ukraine

Finland sent a large amount of wastewater treatment plant equipment to Ukraine at the end of August. The equipment will make a significant contribution to helping Ukraine meet its water supply needs, which have grown during the summer.
