EU statement on Israeli military action in Khan Younis, Gaza

The European Union is deeply concerned about the Israeli army orders to evacuate civilians from the area of Khan Younis. Some 250,000 people are impacted by the evacuation orders. These orders also threaten the patients of the European Hospital, one of the few remaining partially functioning hospitals in southern Gaza.

Frontex: EU signs migration and border management agreement with Serbia

The agreement is a deliverable of the EU Action Plan on the Western Balkans presented by the Commission in December 2022. Main results of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, 24 June 2024

The EU Foreign Affairs Council exchanged views on the Russian aggression against Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. EU ministers then held a discussion on Western Balkans before having an informal discussion over lunch with their Western Balkans counterparts. The Council also exchanged views on Georgia and the Great lakes Region in Africa.

U.S. Treasury targets Houthi weapons procurement and funding networks

The U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is designating two individuals and five entities that have facilitated weapons procurement for Ansarallah, commonly referred to as the Houthis. OFAC is also designating one individual and one company, as well as identifying one vessel, that have facilitated the shipment of commodities, the sale of which provides an important funding stream to the Houthis that aids in their weapons procurement.
