EU Commission disburses first payment of €238.5m to Estonia under the RRF

Payments under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), are performance-based and depend on the implementation by Estonia of the investments and reforms described in its recovery and resilience plan. On 30 June 2023, Estonia submitted to the Commission the first request for payment under the RRF. On 22 September 2023, the Commission adopted a positive preliminary assessment of Estonia’s request for payment.

Today, the European Commission has formally sent AliExpress a request for information under the Digital Services Act (DSA). Europol: Operation Mobile 6 puts the brakes on car thieves

Operation Mobile 6 took place in October 2023 at the EU’s external land borders, as well as border locations in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. EU Commission approves amendment to 2022-2027 regional State aid map for Germany  

The European Commission has approved, under EU State aid rules, an amendment to Germany’s map for granting regional aid until 31 December 2027, within the framework of the regional aid guidelines. On 15 December 2021, the Commission approved the 2022-2027 regional aid map for Germany. On 30 May 2023, the Commission adopted a Communication regarding a possible mid-term review of the regional aid maps, taking into account updated statistics.

EU signs grants to improve Moldova-EU transport links

VLOPs and Search Engines to publish first transparency reports under the DSA

As part of their transparency obligations under the Digital Services Act (DSA), designated Very Large Online Platforms and Very Large Online Search Engines are due to publish their first transparency reports – and some did so already. The first seven platforms have already published their reports, and the rest have until 6 November to do so. RRF: Positive assessment of Croatia’s €700m recovery request

The Croatian recovery and resilience plan is supported by €5.5 billion in grants. Croatia requested to modify its plan and add a REPowerEU chapter on 31 August 2023.
