EU Commission Executive VP  Dombrovskis travels to Lithuania for the European Semester

Executive Vice-President and Commissioner for Trade, Valdis Dombrovskis, will be in Vilnius today and Friday as part of Member State visits under the European Semester. He will meet the chairman of the Bank of Lithuania, Gediminas Šimkus; the Prime Minister, Ingrida Šimonytė, and the Finance Minister, Gintarė Skaistė. The key themes will be Ukraine, China, Rail Baltica and the state of play in Lithuania's Recovery and Resilience Plan.

EU Commission Executive VP Dombrovskis in Slovakia to visit Ukrainian border region

Between 5 and 7 October, Executive Vice-President and Commissioner for Trade, Valdis Dombrovskis, travels to Slovakia to visit the Ukrainian border region. Executive Vice-President Dombrovskis will be welcomed by the Minister of Transport of Slovakia, Pavol Lančarič, to visit a transhipment terminal and observe first hand important developments in Solidarity Lanes infrastructure. These developments are feeding into the work of the Joint Coordination Platform to facilitate Ukrainian grain exports and develop alternative transport routes.

EU Commission Executive VP Dombrovskis co-chairs EU-Canada Joint Committee

During the meeting, both parties will discuss the positive results of CETA on companies, workers, and farmers across sectors, as well as the implementation of CETA and its ratification in the EU. The CETA Committee will adopt the agreements on the ‘Interpretation on Investment' and additional rules to facilitate SME access to its Investment Court System. Some 2,500 SMEs have begun exporting to Canada thanks to CETA, making the Interpretation on Investment all the more important.
