Loneliness in the European Union: Policies at work

On June 6th 2023, the European Commission Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, will host a high-level conference in Brussels. The conference will mark the conclusion of the European Parliament Pilot Project on Loneliness carried out together with the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. The results of the first EU-wide loneliness survey will be presented and discussed.

The event will bring together EU and national policymakers, top academics from different disciplines working on loneliness, international organisations as well as practitioners working on interventions, to further dialogue and bring attention to a topic of societal relevance.

Moderated by Mr. Ali Al-Jaberi.

Participation will be possible virtually and in person.

Please note that in-person participation is subject to capacity constraints and approval by the organizers.

Travel and accommodation will only be covered for speakers.
