EU Youth Conference

The EU Youth Conference (EUYC) provides a platform for young people and policy makers from EU member states and candidate countries, and international organisations to discuss topics, opportunities, and challenges that young Europeans face. The conference is a crucial platform to connect different viewpoints and make positive changes for young people in the European Union.

What is the EUYC?

The event, taking place in Budapest from 7-10 September 2024, will be the largest youth event during Hungary’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with hundreds of ministerial and youth delegates participating. The conference is an integral part of the European Youth Dialogue (formerly known as the Structured Dialogue), which gives young people in Europe the opportunity to have face-to-face exchanges with decision-makers on the issues and challenges that concern them. Its goal is to address important issues for young people and come up with ways to make Europe better for them.

How is it impactful?

The 10th cycle of the EU Youth Dialogue, led by the trio presidency of Spain, Belgium, and Hungary, focusses on the third European Youth Goal on Inclusive Societies as its overarching priority. As part of this, the EUYC in Budapest aims to find solutions to help young people with fewer opportunities from rural and remote areas to thrive locally and to highlight their strategic role in promoting the vision of the European Union. During the conference, participants will adopt recommendations and proposals, which will be incorporated by the Presidency into the Council documents discussed by the Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council.
