AFET delegation to Moldova

A delegation of five MEPs from the Committee on Foreign Affairs, led by Chair David MCALLISTER (EPP, DE), will visit Moldova from 25 to 27 February to hear from representatives of Moldova’s government and parliament ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections later this year. In the capital Chișinău, the delegation will meet with, among others, Moldovan President Maia SANDU, Speaker of Parliament Igor GROSU and Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai POPȘOI.

SEDE delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina

A delegation of four Security and Defence Committee MEPs, led by Niclas Herbst (EPP, Germany), will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina from 24 to 27 February to re-confirm the European Parliament’s commitment to the stability of the EU candidate country, discuss the current security situation and hear from interlocutors on the implementation of the Dayton peace agreement. In the capital Sarajevo, the delegation will meet with, among others, the representatives of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, High Representative Christian Schmidt, Defence Minister Zukan Helez and Foreign Affairs Minister Elmedin Konaković.

Committee on Development delegation to Tanzania

7 Committee on Development MEPs, led by chair Barry Andrews, will travel to Tanzania to gather first-hand information on Global Gateway initiatives and other development cooperation projects on the ground and to assess their impact on the local economy and population. MEPs will focus on the impact of EU investment in the country, both in sector-specific projects and the wider impact of the EU’s flagship Global Gateway initiative. Over the course of the three-day mission, MEPs will visit projects focusing on water and sanitation, economic development and port infrastructure, gender equality, education, and sustainable fishing practices. The MEPs will meet with government ministers and representatives of EU diplomatic missions, UN agencies, development banks, private sector, and national development agencies. They will also talk with their counterparts in the Tanzanian parliament as well as local civil society representatives to discuss, among other issues, sustainable development, inter-parliamentary cooperation and human rights.

IMCO delegation to Washington DC

Between 24 and 28 February 2025, MEPs from the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection will visit Washington DC. The main aim of this visit is to strengthen the transatlantic cooperation on key policy IMCO areas while obtaining feedback from U.S. stakeholders on the implementation and impact of major EU legislation. The MEPs traveling to Washington for the parliamentary visit are Anna CAVAZZINI (IMCO Chair, Greens/EFA, DE), Andreas SCHWAB (EPP, DE), Pablo ARIAS ECHEVERRÍA (EPP, ES), Christel SCHALDEMOSE (S&D, DK), Klára DOSTÁLOVÁ (PfE, CZ), Piotr MÜLLER (ECR, PL), and Sandro GOZI (Renew, FR).

REGI delegation to Ireland

From 26 to 28 February, six MEPs from the Committee on Regional Development will travel to Country Galway and the Midland region of Ireland to learn about the use of cohesion funds with local stakeholders. They will visit Galway Port, followed by Athenry to discuss the possibility of using cohesion funds to reopen a former railway line as part of the Western Rail Corridor, and Atlantic Technological University Mountbellew. They will also learn more about the use of Just Transition Funds on-the-ground in Carrownagappul and Kilcormac boglands. The delegation will be led by REGI Vice-Chair Ľubica KARVAŠOVÁ (Renew, SK).
