The European Commission will present later in 2023 its proposals for both the Mid Term Review of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027 as well as for a second set of new own resources to provide additional revenue streams for the EU Budget, notably for the repayment of the joint EU debt of the Recovery Plan. To provide input to the policy debate and to shape concrete policy proposals of the EESC in this respect, the EESC´s ECO section is organizing a policy debate with Margarida Marques, Member of the European Parliament, Vice-chair of the Committee on Budgets (BUDG). Ms Marques has been rapporteur for the European Parliament for various legislative and non-legislative files on the EU Budget, and most recently the European Parliament resolution of 15 December 2022 on upscaling the 2021-2027 multiannual financial framework: a resilient EU budget fit for new challenges.
The policy debate is organised on 30 May 2023 starting at 14:30 and is accessible via webstream. No registration is needed.
