Tuesday 11 February 2025
10:00-15:30
EESC, Brussels Belgium
Introduction
A strong European defence industry not only contributes to addressing the current and future defence and security challenges, but also supports Europe’s strategic autonomy and technological edge. Resilience at a time of high intensity conflicts in a volatile geopolitical environment is essential. EDA is continuing its structured dialogue with Industry, supporting the development of a competitive and innovative EDTIB by engaging with industry mainly on topics derived from the EDA’s prioritisation framework.
Building on the outcomes of the previous event in June 2024, EDA is inviting the representatives of pMS defence industries and Member States to a hybrid (in person and online) conference on Tuesday 11 February 2025 from 10h00 to 15h30 at European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), Rue Belliard 99-101, 1040 Brussels
Purpose
In this Conference, Industry will receive an update on the state of play and related way ahead of the EDA’s activities with benefit to Industry. In addition, the Consultative Commission on Industrial Change (CCMI) of EESC and the PL PCY Chair of Defence Industry Working Party (DIWP) will provide their perspectives related to defence industry. The representatives of the European Commission (DG DEFIS) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) are also invited to attend the meeting and provide an update on their current initiatives relevant to defence industry. A panel discussion with the participation of Industry, ASD, EDA and EEAS will follow, providing an opportunity to explore the points raised during the briefings in greater depth.
Registration
Information on how to register to the workshop can be obtained through NDIA’s, ASD’s, and NAD’s Points of Contact (PoCs). In person participation will be limited to the respective capacity of EESC premises.
