The extraordinary 37th European Green Party (EGP) Congress is just around the corner, taking place in Vienna, Austria on Friday and Saturday, June 2-3

This event is a crucial moment as the EGP gears up for the 2024 European elections. The Congress sets the stage for defining their next steps as the European Green Family, including a joint election campaign, expanding the political family, and shaping the EGP’s demands for the 2024 EU elections:

Opening of the 37th European Green Party Congress

Our EGP Congress will be opened by our hosts, Die Grünen, together with EGP co-chair Thomas Waitz. We are looking forward to having Alma Zadić, Minister of Justice of Austria and Werner Kogler, Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Spokesperson of Die Grünen , on stage.

A Secure Future for All: The Green Transformation of Our Energy Systems 

The transformation of our energy systems is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century. Central to all efforts of preventing the climate crisis must be the expansion of renewable energies and the termination of the modern dependence on fossil fuels. This relates not only to ways of generating power, but also to current systems of heating homes. 

In this panel, we aim to discuss Green visions for the future of energy and their regional, national, and international significance.

Just Transition: Towards a Green Economy and a Social Union

A climate-neutral economy in the EU is inevitable to address the climate crisis. This transition must be fair and inclusive for everyone. A just transition is the solution to potential conflicts between delivering policies for the people OR for the climate.

In this panel, we will discuss what a just transition means for European businesses, the future of work, social welfare systems in the EU, and the trust between citizens and governments.
