Market situation

Ministers will discuss the market situation in light of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, to take stock of the various developments impacting agrifood products and the EU’s agrifood sector in general.

Food security and affordability (background information)

Sustainable use of pesticides

Ministers will, on the basis of information provided by the Commission, exchange views on the study complementing the impact assessment of the proposal.

From farm to fork (background information)

New Genomic Techniques (NGTs)

Ministers will exchange views on the Commission’s legislative proposal on the regulation on plants obtained by certain new genomic techniques and food and feed products.

Other business

Difficulties for Romanian farmers

Romania will provide information to the Council regarding the impact of the war in Ukraine, adverse weather conditions and high input prices on Romanian farmers.

Ukrainian imports and persisting difficulties on farm markets

Poland will, on behalf of Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia, inform ministers of the persisting impacts of Ukrainian imports on their farm markets as a result of Russia’s aggression of Ukraine.

Fifth African Union – European Union Agriculture Ministerial Conference

Ministers will be informed of the main outcomes of the Ministerial Conference held on 30 June in Rome, which central theme was ‘Resilient food systems and sustainable agri-value chains’.

Plant and forest reproductive material

Ministers will receive information from the Commission on the new proposal for a regulation on the production and marketing of plant and forest reproductive material.
