The 15th edition of the ISFNT symposium will be held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, from 10 to 15 September 2023. It is a biannual symposium on fusion technologies and is the most important international congress on this topic.
ISFNT-15 is organised by CIEMAT-National Fusion Laboratory in collaboration with CDTI, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, FuseNet, the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.
ISFNT-15 will include 18 plenary sessions, 6 parallel sessions and 4 poster sessions distributed between 11-15 September. There will also be an industrial exhibition area during all the days of the congress, where, for the moment, 8 sponsoring entities and 8 exhibitors will participate in the exhibition stands.
On Tuesday 12th, the Industry Info Day will be held in parallel, a special session aimed at industry, whose objective is to show the business opportunities that will open up in the coming years in projects of great relevance in the world of fusion, as well as to establish public-private synergies and put the fusion scientific community in contact with the industrial fabric, especially the Spanish one. The programme also includes seven satellite meetings on topics of great interest in the area of fusion technologies. All the information is available on the event’s website: https://isfnt2023.com
The event has a strong European component, which is currently leading the way in nuclear fusion science and technology. It is worth highlighting the start of the construction of the large IFMIF-DONES facility, an initiative of the National Fusion Laboratory – CIEMAT currently being developed by the IFMIF-DONES Spain Consortium in Granada, with the aim of validating Tritium materials and technology in nuclear fusion reactors.
In parallel, the travelling exhibition “IFMIF-DONES and fusion energy. Walking towards the future, from Granada to the Stars”, which will start its tour on 27 September from the Science Park in Granada.
