The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development organised a public hearing “Women in the countryside – an academic and a farmer’s perspective”. The Hearing took place in the framework of the Gender Equality Week 2021, on initiative of the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality.
AGRI Committee participated in this year’s edition of the EPs Gender Equality Week in the last week of October 2021 with a hearing to highlight the role of women in the countryside by bringing in two experts and book authors (Ms Theresia Oedl-Wieser and Ms Céline Berthier) to share their experience and opinion with AGRI MEPs, notably AGRI Gender Mainstreaming Network members Hilde Vautmans and Pina Picierno as well as Isabel Carvalhais in her role as Rapporteur for the report on the long term vision for Rural areas.
