The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control of Mayakan Pipeline B.V. (“MPBV”), based in the Netherlands, by Engie S.A., based in France, and Macquarie Group Limited ( “Macquarie”), based in Australia.
The transaction mainly concerns the natural gas transportation sector.
The Commission concluded that the planned concentration would not raise competition concerns, given the limited impact on the European Economic Area. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger control procedure.
