Brussels, 23 October 2024
Today, the Commission disbursed to Slovenia the third payment for €141.5 million in grants (net of pre-financing) and €116.1 million in loans under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
As for all Member States, payments made to Slovenia under the RRF are performance-based and depend on the implementation by Slovenia of the investments and reforms described in its recovery and resilience plan.
On 28 June 2024, Slovenia submitted to the Commission the third request for payment of €257.6 million under the RRF covering eight milestones. These cover several reforms in the areas of the pension system, sustainable transport, public procurement, and energy efficiency of buildings. Investments in greening educational infrastructure, constructing new institutional care facilities, and enhancing the competitiveness of companies are also included.
On 16 September 2024, the Commission adopted a positive preliminary assessment of Slovenia’s request for payment. The favourable opinion of the Economic and Financial Committee of the Council on the payment request paved the way for the Commission to adopt a final decision on the disbursement of the funds.
Slovenia’s overall recovery and resilience plan will be financed by €2.68 billion, with €1.61 billion in grants and €1.07 billion in loans.
