Majority constellation
The informal alliance (EPP, S&D, and Renew Europe) that is presenting most members of the current EU Commission would still have a comfortable majority in the future EU Parliament 2024-2029:
Pro-Russian MEPs
Potentially pro-Russian political groups – such as the ID (partly), The Left (partly), the Non-attached MEPs (partly), and the new unaffiliated MEPs (partly) – have grown in some EU countries, but stayed below any destructive threshold. Their final strength will be seen as soon as the expected group re-arrangements on the left and right wing of the EU Parliament becomes clearer:
Revision of the Green Deal?
The support for the European Green Deal has been weakened by the erosion of impact by Germany’s Greens and parts of the Renew Europe group. Groups in favour of a partly revision of the Green Deal could achieve that across party lines:
