The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of Midsona AB (‘Midsona’) by Stena Adactum AB (‘Stena’), both of Sweden.
Midsona develops, produces and markets health food, self-care and hygiene products, and sells them through several different channels, including grocery stores, pharmacies, specialised health stores, gyms as well as online. Stena is an investment company active in various areas with a long-term investment horizon.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given the absence of overlaps and vertical links between the companies’ activities in the relevant markets in the European Economic Area. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
