The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control of PLK Venture UK Ltd (‘Popeyes UK’) by TDR Capital LLP, both of the UK, and Ring International Holding AG of Austria.
The transaction relates primarily to the sector of fast-food chains in the UK.
The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given the limited impact in the European Economic Area. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
