The EU Commission is currently carrying out an impact assessment of three pieces of maritime safety legislation to see whether and how they can be improved.

The assessments will examine:

Public consultations on the inception impact assessments were held in October/November 2020. (See links below)

Given the highly technical nature of the three directives, the targeted stakeholder consultation and the limited responses received in related and recent consultations, there is will be no open public consultation on this revision.

However, any interested parties and stakeholders who wish to comment and are not already covered by the targeted consultations are requested to do so via the functional mailbox MOVE-MARITIME-SAFETY-DIRECTIVES-2021@ec.europa.eu before 17 September 2021.

For further information regarding each revision, please see the inception impact assessments.
