Daniel Thelesklaf, internationally recognized expert in combating money laundering, will be the new head of the German Central Office for Financial Transaction Investigations (FIU). He is scheduled to take office on July 1, 2023. Thelesklaf has decades of experience in fighting financial crime. The trained lawyer is currently employed by the United Nations as a project manager for the “Finance against slavery and human trafficking” initiative.

Before his assignment at the United Nations, Daniel Thelesklaf was already head of the FIU in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, where he initiated important reforms. He also worked in the legal departments of well-known banks. He is a Swiss citizen.
