The ‘Auction Calendar’ for 2022/2023, which contains information on specific capacity auctions, is now available on ENTSOG’s website.

The Network Code on Capacity Allocation Mechanisms requires ENTSOG to publish an Auction Calendar by each January for auctions taking place from March through February of the following year. This calendar provides all relevant timings for auctions, including starting dates and standard capacity products to which they apply.
Key auction dates for firm capacity are:

  • Annual yearly capacity auction – 4 July 2022
  • Annual quarterly capacity auctions – 1 August 2022, 7 November 2022, 6 February 2023, and 2 May 2023
  • Rolling monthly capacity auctions – third Monday of M-1 with a couple of exceptions due e.g., to public holidays (the adjusted auction dates will be on 19 April 2022 and 13 February 2023)
  • Rolling day-ahead capacity auctions – D-1, 14:30 (UTC) during daylight saving time, 15:30 (UTC) during wintertime
  • Within-day capacity auctions – each hour for the period starting from +4 hours until the end of the gas day

Dates for interruptible capacity auctions are also included and must be considered as the European standard defaults.

The Auction Calendar for 2022/2023 is available here.

The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) was founded in line with Regulation (EC) 715/2009 and has played a key role in facilitating integration of the European gas markets, ensuring technical interoperability and providing security of supply by gas infrastructure planning. Looking forward, ENTSOG is contributing to the net-zero decarbonisation by 2050, in particular, by the integration of renewable and low carbon gases via future-proof gas transmission pipelines, in line with the EU energy and climate goals. More information on ENTSOG can be found on our website www.entsog.eu.
