Fiber Connect Council MENA and the FTTH Council Europe have inked a significant agreement aimed at fostering collaboration and synergy between the two organizations.
The agreement, which was signed in Berlin on the occasion of the FTTH Conference 2024, marks a pivotal moment in recognizing the aligned missions and the shared goals and activities of both entities within neighbouring regions.
The Fiber Connect Council MENA and the FTTH Council Europe have long been at the forefront of advocating for the widespread adoption and advancement of fibre optic technology in their respective regions of interest. With parallel objectives and overlapping member interests, the agreement formalizes a commitment to harnessing these commonalities for the mutual benefit of their respective memberships.
At its core, the agreement underscores a shared vision of accelerating the deployment and utilization of fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks across the MENA region and beyond. By pooling resources, expertise, and networks, both organizations aim to drive innovation, promote best practices, and address common challenges encountered in the deployment and operation of FTTH infrastructure.

Echoing this sentiment, Raf Meersman, President of the FTTH Council Europe, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “This agreement allows us to pool resources and expertise, paving the way for a closer collaboration to help achieve our mission and tackle the common challenges for our industry in the near future. For the members of the FTTH Council Europe this also offers new chances of networking and exchange of knowledge with people and organisations in the MENA region and vice versa.”
As part of the agreement, FCC MENA and FTTH Council Europe will explore various avenues for collaboration, including joint initiatives, knowledge exchange programs, and advocacy efforts. By working together, both organizations are confident that they can unlock new opportunities and address the evolving needs of their members in the dynamic field of fibre optic communications.
