The European Innovation Council Summit will take place in Brussels on 24 and 25 November, bringing together innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and many more from across Europe to discuss about the future of European innovation policy.

The Summit also aims to facilitate coaching, networking and the exchange of ideas for high-growth start-ups, giving the opportunity to European start-ups and innovators to connect and network with other small and medium businesses, researchers and investors. Margrethe Vestager, Executive Vice-President for a Europe Fit for the Digital Age, and Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, will open the event with two keynote speeches highlighting the achievements of the European Innovation Council (EIC) and its unique investment approach that supports the deep technologies that will change Europe’s future for the better.

Thierry Breton, Commissioner for the Internal Market, will participate in the session on technological sovereignty, where he will stress the importance of Europe laying the foundations of technological leadership to accelerate and anticipate our shift towards a greener and more digital economy, while ensuring Europe’s resilience. During the EIC Summit, the Commission will present several initiatives and will announce the new edition of the EIC Impact report and key achievements (will be online on 24 November at 14:00 CET), as well as the winners of three EIC Prizes: the European Capital of Innovation Awards, EU Prize for Women Innovators  and the European Innovation Procurement Awards. The newly elected members of the EIC Board will also be presented and Commissioner Gabriel will launch the EIC Forum, a platform aimed at bringing together innovation actors at the EU, national and regional level, to ensure a smooth and effective support for innovators.
