The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, in cooperation with Roland Berger, will release its European Business in China Business Confidence Survey 2021 (BCS) on 8th June in Beijing. European Chamber Board Member Charlotte Roule will present the key findings.

Having found their path through the dark times of the COVID-19 outbreak, European companies in China are keeping one eye on the horizon, and shifting strategies to address the coming storms. In Q1 2020, many were discussing how to build resilience out of China and into their global supply chains, as well as of diversification into other markets. Contrary to those expectations, European companies in China found themselves in a resurgent market that was able to get production back online. They are now building resilience in China to secure their position in the market.

However, the still-looming economic consequences of the pandemic, an increasingly politicised business environment, decoupling and technology divergence, and long-standing concerns over market access, state-owned enterprises and the lack of a level playing field still present major concerns for European companies.

Join the event to learn the latest data collected from the European business community in China. Launch events will also take place in Shanghai on 9th June and in Shenzhen on 25th June.
