Rapporteur Sandra Kalniete (EPP, LV) presents her draft report on foreign interference and disinformation in the special committee INGE on Tuesday.

The draft report sets out the arenas, tools, and conduits of foreign interference and disinformation in the EU. It also recommends ways to combat interference and disinformation and to improve the efficacy of the EU response. The report is based on more than 40 hearings of over a hundred experts since the special committee has started of its work in September 2020. The rapporteur laid the groundwork for the draft report in a series of working documents on various aspects of the problem: the scope of foreign interference in the EU, disinformation on social networks, political party financing by non-EU donors, and builidng EU resistance.
The draft report is presented in the presence of members of national parliaments who join the debate.
EU Digital COVID Certificate to enter Parliament
As of 3 November, all people entering Parliament’s buildings have to present a valid EU Digital COVID Certificate, including journalists. The EU Digital COVID Certificate proves that a person is either fully vaccinated, has immunity after having recovered from COVID-19 or can show a recent negative PCR test result. Both digital and paper formats of the EU Digital COVID Certificate or of a recognised equivalent certificate will be accepted.
A proof of a negative result of a PCR test carried out within the last 48 hours in Belgium, Luxembourg or France will also be accepted. Please note that the existing precautionary measures, including the compulsory wearing of a medical face mask and temperature checks at entrances, remain in place. More information here.
